A verse I love . . and love to share with women I counsel with is 2 Corinthians 5.9.  Paul says this: “Therefore we also have as our ambition, whether at home or absent, to be pleasing to Him.”

One simple goal: to be pleasing to Him.

Simple goal for my life; a simple goal for any woman’s life.

It’s the goal, or my greatest ambition, for this Simple Sheep blog ~ that it is pleasing to Him.

I simply desire that through this new adventure of blogging that Simple Sheep will be a place where women can come and find someone who’s living a simple, but real-life; and, find simple truth that is being lived out in simple ways. (Can you tell I’m not one for making things too complicated?)

I pray that I can write about topics that all of us little Sheep need to hear about, learn about, or that we wrestle with or wander from . . in ways that are real, simple and understandable.

I also pray that women who find this site are women who are seeking the Shepherd or they are women who’ve found the Shepherd . . . or are women who are struggling to live like the Shepherd (which would include me!)

A few chapters later in 2 Corinthians, Paul writes: “But I am afraid that, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, your minds (and I would include our hearts too!) will be led astray from the simplicity and purity of devotion to Christ.” (2 Cor. 11.3)

I like consistency, simplicity and purity. As a little Sheep, do I always attain these things? Absolutely not! Why? It’s because I am also a stupid sheep who can be deceived just like Eve was by the craftiness of serpent. But if I try to keep that one ambition forefront in my heart and mind ~ being pleasing to Him ~ I will hear what He wants me to hear, learn what I need to learn, struggle just a little bit less and hopefully not wander away from the Shepherd. Well, at least not wander away to far for too long.

While it sounds simple to have this one goal . . . its quite hard to live out.  Yet we must . . I must . . . simply keep trying! Will you join me in my simple desire to be a simple sheep who’s simply trying to please Him?

Oh, Lord . . . help me to be a simple sheep who simply follows You so that I please you in all I do and say. Amen.
