It’s simple ….

Seek His Kingdom …. First & Always

Jesus Himself said in Matthew 6, verse 33 ….

But seek (aim at and strive after) first of all His kingdom and His righteousness (His way of doing and being right) and all these things taken together will be given (provided) to you besides” (Amplified version)

He simply wants you and me to seek Him ….. He wants us in HOT PURSUIT of Him …

That’s pretty simple, right?

BUT …. let me ask a question again … (this may become a habit through these posts .. teehee!)

What was THE FIRST THING you thought of when you woke up this morning?

Depending on when you read this post … you may not exactly remember.  Just sit for a moment and try to remember …. what was your first thought this morning as you came out of your slumber?

Did you think …..

• “Ugh! No! Not yet!!!!! Please just let me sleep some more!” (it IS Saturday after all!!)
• “Wait!!! Did I schedule my post for the 31 Day challenge last night??”
• “(big sigh) Oh my … I have SOOO much to get done today! How am I going to do it all??”

OR …. did you think ….

• “God love me so much … He sent His Son to die for my sins … Hallelujah!”
• “His mercy is NEW today!”
• “He tells me NOT to worry about my life but to SEEK HIM … that is what I will do today!”

In Matthew 6 Jesus is teaching us that we are not to worry.  He says that worrying can not & will not add a single hour to our lives! He says that if His Father feeds the birds .. why would He not take care of us because we are WORTH so much more to Him!

So Jesus says …. “DO NOT WORRY …. Seek ME … Seek the Kingdom … Seek right-ness” (my paraphrase here … lol!)

He simply wants us continually seeking Him … and not other worldly things.  He’ll provide those for us.

In “My Utmost for His Highest” one day I read this and jotted it down on a 3×5 card … Chambers said:

If you are recognizing your LORD, then you have no business with where He engineers your circumstances.

WOE! My life’s circumstances will not matter to me as long as I am ‘recognizing’ …. or if I am in hot pursuit of my Lord and Savior!  He will provide all that I need because you and I are worth much to Him!

So …. today … will I and will you ….

• Choose to seek Him first … continually … before you see anything or anyone else?
• Make it your goal to live a life in hot pursuit of Him?
• Passionately pursue loving the One who provides all your needs?
