We’re All Dirty!

It’s simple …..

We are ALL Sinners!

It’s a truth that is repeated throughout God’s Word.  Most of us know and often quote the Romans 3:23 verse the most …. It says (…I’m going to start at the end of 22 🙂 )

There is no difference between Jew and Gentile, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God ….

WAIT …. allow me to put verse 24 in (I’m using the NIV here)

…. and all are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.

In the Greek, verses 23 through 26 are all one long sentence …. so let’s continue then! Context is so important when we look at what God says in His Word!

God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement, through the shedding of His blood ~ to be received by faith. He did this to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance He had left the sins committed beforehand punished ~ He did it to demonstrate His righteousness at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus.

Read it again … let the truth of what God has done for us dirty people sink deeply into your soul.  Maybe take time, right now … and just praise Him for how He’s demonstrated His righteousness to us ….. I’m going to 🙂

Oh! There is so much here that could … and probably should be unpacked.  My goal though through this series has been to just settle on truth and keep it simple.

We simply are marred and sinful people.  Nothing good lives in us.  We could never be clean enough … good enough … right enough … to come into His presence.  His Son willingly made the way for us … He stepped in our place and did what we could never do.

God made us …. and …. God had a plan to ‘buy us back’ …. because this demonstrated His righteousness.

We all fail miserably in light of God’s standards.  Let us never ever get lulled into thinking we’re pretty good.  We all act contrary to the will and law of God.

But by His GREAT GRACE you and I get something we never should have gotten.

Oh the goodness of the Creator!

So . . . today … would you join with me in …

  • Choosing to not get lulled into wrong thinking of who we truly are ~ just saved sinners (…. if you don’t know for sure where you will spend eternity, let me know because I would love to help you with that!)
  • Determining to live a life that pleases Him by placing our faith in Christ
  • and … let’s passionately pursue this One who demonstrated such love to us dirty people!

Blessings Friends,
