An Aroma to God

It’s simple …

You and I are a Fragrance of Christ to God

Paul writes this in his second letter to the church at Corinth … he says:

But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and manifests through us the sweet aroma of the knowledge of Him in every place.

For we are a fragrance of Christ to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing; to the one an aroma from death to death, to the other an aroma from life to life. And who is adequate for these things?

Did you read that, sweet sisters?

Try and grasp this incredibly amazing concept for a minute with me ….

When we speak His name … when we spread the Good News …. the Gospel and when we proclaim His Words that bring life and healing to others who do not know Him yet … we are, as one of my commentaries says: “We are Christ’s sweet fragrance that ascends to God.” (reference below)

I want to be that sweet fragrance to God. Do you?

This is only possible when I am IN Christ and when I am abiding in Him! It’s only possible when I take time to draw near to Him.  And it’s only possible when I truly submit my life to Him and I walk in the Spirit.

While this is simple … it IS quite hard to do.

Why?

Because my sinful flesh gets in the way!  So, I must daily battle my flesh that wants to totally go in another direction!  I have MY to-do lists that need to get done.  I have hurts that I want to massage and hold on to. I have this propensity to wander from Him.  I can change allegiances and I sometimes don’t even know it.

But … IN Christ …

I can be an aroma that pleases my Heavenly Father very much! And this … this IS what I really want.

I WANT a sweet Christ fragrance to float it’s way on up to the Father.

So … will you join me?

  • Will you choose to follow ALL His ways?
  • Will you make this a goal in your life?
  • Will you passionately pursue Him by daily being at His feet?

I pray your Saturday was full of joy and laughter!

Blessings Sweet Sisters,
