We CAN keep our MINDS fixed in ONE place
I love this verse in Isaiah! We find in the 26th chapter .. verse 3:
The ESV says it this way …
You keep him in perfect peace
whose mind is stayed on you,
because he trusts in you.

While the NLT says it like this … (I love both ways!)
You will keep in perfect peace
all who trust in you,
all whose thoughts are fixed on you!

Where is Your Mind Most of the Time?
Most of us … most of the time … follow our thoughts when we should choose what thoughts we think on.
Just let that sit for a moment …. I’ll wait 🙂
We listen to our thoughts more than we choose to speak to ourselves. NOW … please, I’m not going down the road of ‘self-talk’ the way you’ve typically heard it. The world says that we should do this affirmative, positive self-talk to ourselves. We need to say good things to ourselves …. then we will ‘feel’ better about ourselves and we will build up ourselves up.
Can I just say …. barf!
This whole idea came from God first! And He says it in many ways and in many places in His Word.
It is ONLY His Word that accomplishes what they are meant to accomplish. Our words that we might say to ourselves have ABSOLUTELY NO POWER to do anything for us! Oh, they may make us ‘feel’ better about us … but that slowly fades and does nothing for us. It is fleeting.
ONLY HIS WORDS have transformational power to do the work in our hearts.
What Is The Result of a Steadfast Mind?
PEACE!
He will keep you and I IN PERFECT PEACE if we choose to fix our thoughts on HIM and HIM ALONE!
This shows that we TRUST HIM. Is that not what He is looking for from us?
Will you make that your goal with me today?
Will you choose to keep your mind and thoughts FIXED on Him?
You … yes you .. .who maybe reading this … pursue with passion to live a life who speaks His Words to your mind … and watch His promise of peace come flooding in!
