Protection
It means ~ to defend or guard from attack, invasion, loss, annoyance, insult,etc. Some of the synonyms to ‘protection’ are words like: security, refuge, safety, guard, defense or shield
. 
What protection insures us to live wisely?
God and what He says in His Word. And He gives us a clue in Proverbs, chapter 2.
Let’s look at what it tells us:
- Be totally captivated – heart, soul, mind & strength – by Him & His Word
- Be desperate to know the Word and apply it to life
- Be willing to seek and search diligently after it
Because . . .when you do . .
You will discern the fear of The Lord & discover the knowledge of God (2:5).
And, you will discern right choices that lead to right behavior; you’ll discern how to live rightly with others; you’ll discern how to match outward living with inward righteousness; and you’ll discern how to live in a fair and pleasing way in all areas of your life (2:9).
As you grow in your discernment, you will be delivered from evil and from being enticed to love something or someone else.
God becomes our shield and our guard. We are protected.
Wisdom protects.
